My name is Brandon Krause and I am the Principal of Prairie View Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education and high reputation within the Beaver Dam Unified School District. I have dedicated the past twelve years to the field of education, all at the elementary level. I have worked with students ranging from Kindergarten through Sixth grade as a Reading/Math Interventionist and as a general classroom teacher. I also served as an Instructional Coach. I live in Beaver Dam with my wife and three sons.
Prairie View is home to over 350 students and over 60 highly qualified staff. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to support all students academically, socially, and emotionally. Many staff have been trained in Responsive Classroom strategies, teaching to the whole child through dedication to building and maintaining relationships with all students. At Prairie View, students focus their behavior around the core areas of being respectful, responsible, safe, and an active learner. Students are consistently taught, reinforced, and rewarded for demonstrating positive behaviors in these core areas.
Prairie View is recognized as a Model PLC School through Solution Tree. This recognition was given due to Prairie View demonstrating three years of consecutive data showing student improvement and a dedication to teachers working collaboratively to support student growth and achievement in all areas. Prairie View's focus on learning, a collaborative culture with collective responsibility, and a focus on results has supported the achievement of this status.
Our PTO is also a very active component to our school community. They plan many events throughout the school year, as well as support teachers and students in a variety of ways. Through the hard work and dedication of the PTO, students have been able to go on all school field trips, they've been gifted books for their birthdays, as well as many other initiatives. The largest fundraiser of the school year is our annual Fun Run, which is held each year in May. The Prairie View PTO meets monthly and is always welcoming new members.
Please visit our school website for more information. We look forward to continuing to work with students, families, and the greater community to maintain Prairie View's strong reputation and success in student achievement. We value the diversity and perspectives of all students, staff, and families and work collaboratively as a community to continue the growth of our students.
